Hello People!

It’s been so exciting to receive feedback about the blog. Amazing to think that people on the other side of the world are following my little reno here in Northern NSW. Lots of my friends have contacted me on facebook to give me feedback. If you’d like to leave comments here on the blog, simply click on the pale speech bubble that sits next to each post’s title. And DO comment. It’s so edifying to hear your thoughts and feedback.

Today the builder installed the timber beam that spans the living area. This is necessary as we got rid of that funny little alcove outside the bathroom. Not exactly the most exciting development to date. What IS exciting is that there’s a bloody great hole in our back wall where the wall has been demolished and the bi-folds will be installed. Until the bi-folds are ready, our builder has blocked up the hole with corrugated iron. I feel as if I’m living in a tin shed!

You’ll see in the photos that the old windows are leaning against the wall. We’ve decided to use them as our new kitchen windows. Recycling is a great way to be enviro-friendly and, perhaps even more relevant to the here and now, to save money! Speaking of saving money, I intend to  create a post about the boring business of budgeting a reno. Stay tuned…

Old windows to be used in new kitchen

Resmebles my mother-in-law's childhood corrugated iron homeback in Condobolin! She had a dirt floor though.
